This document details the policies and procedures of OMNIPSYCH in providing you with this service.
The First Visit
Privacy
The initial appointment will generally cover the following:

Orientation regarding the process of therapy including fees and treatment agreement

Discussion of your current concerns (what has brought you to therapy)
-
Formulation of a treatment plan that suits you and aims to meet your goals
The psychological service provided is bound by the legal requirements of the National Privacy Principles from the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000. As part of providing a psychological service to you, Dr. Lillian Nejad will need to collect and record your personal information. Most information will be held in a secure online platform used by health professionals (for billing, contact information and case notes) called Healthkit. All information within Healthkit is password protected, secure, and encrypted and all hard copy information will be kept in a locked filing cabinet in a locked office in a secure building to ensure your privacy.
At any stage clients may request to access the information recorded by the psychologist. The psychologist may discuss the contents with them and/or give them a copy. All requests by clients for access to information held about them should be lodged with Dr. Lillian Nejad. These requests will be responded to within 10 days.
Confidentiality
All personal information gathered by the psychologist during the provision of psychological services is confidential except in the following circumstances:

The information is subpoenaed by a court; and/ or
-
Failure to disclose the information would place you or another person at risk; and/or
-
Your prior approval has been obtained to provide a written report to another professional or agency, e.g. a GP or a lawyer or to discuss the material with another person, e.g. a parent or employer.
The cost of a one hour consultation is $300.00. Please provide at least 24 hours notice to change or cancel an appointment. If no notice is provided, a cancellation fee of $100 will be charged.
Medicare
A referral under the Medicare system entitles you to up to 10 ‘rebated’ sessions per calendar year.

Clients with a Mental Health Plan from a referring psychiatrist or GP are eligible to claim a Medicare rebate of $137.05. Therefore, the out-of-pocket expense will be $162.65 per session.

There is provision for bulk-billing for those undergoing financial hardship in which there will be no out of pocket fee. In this case, Medicare will be billed directly. Please note that bulk-billing spaces are limited, please enquire when the next appointments are available.

Under the Medicare system, you must have a review with the referrer after the first six sessions to continue receiving the rebate for the final four sessions.

If treatment extends beyond 10 sessions, the cost will continue to be $300 per session to be paid before or on the day of treatment. For those who were bulk-billed, the cost of sessions will be negotiated on a sliding scale based on current income.

If you have reached the Medicare Safety Net as in individual or family, then you will receive an 80% rebate on your sessions. Please check your status with Medicare.
Private Health Insurance
If you do not have a mental health care plan or you have reached the maximum sessions, you may be able to claim a rebate through their private health insurer – please speak to your provider for rebate amounts.
Fees
Payment
Payment may be made by bank transfer, credit card, or BPAY (details will be provided on the invoice).
Payment is due before or on the day of treatment.
If you are bulk-billed, Medicare will be billed directly.
